Unlike it's predecessors, the Xantia range have either 5,6,7 8, and now in the case of the Activa 10 suspension spheres depending on model. On VSX, Exclusive and Activa cars, it is important that the spheres are replaced in groups of four, i.e. all front spheres or all rears, since the centre (Hydra-active and anti-sink) spheres control the softness of the ride when the car is in comfort mode and also the anti-sink function. It has been found that in the case of early models without ant-sink, the front spheres tend to fail first. (Recommended interval: three years or 40,000 miles). Later cars (August 1994 onwards) with anti-sink will require the rear spheres replacing first. In general, we advise all spheres be replaced together since, usually, cars have exceeded 50,000 miles before we see them.
